WordPress

WordPress is another platform tool and content management system that OBT relies on to create functional, easy-to-manage websites for our clients. Originally, WordPress began as a blogging platform called "cafelog/b2" and the open source community surrounding the platform helped to grow the software to what it is today. Still functioning as a blogging tool, WordPress also allows for the development of community-focused websites and is a simple way to control basic website content. There are many similarities between WordPress and other content management systems such as Drupal, but WordPress is designed to be usable "out-of-the-box", while Drupal and other tools require considerably more setup.

How we use it: Many of our clients do not require the large, modular functionality of a CMS (content management system) like Drupal, but still need a template-based, easily updated website platform. WordPress allows us to deliver a customized website for our clients that does not require designer maintenance. Each WordPress install features a dashboard that allows for site editing that's as easy as creating a Word document. As with all of our designs, each website is customized with fresh content, design work and software add-ons.
